UNDP-GEF-BEE Project on Energy Efficiency Improvements in Dhanvantri OPD Expansion, SMS Hospital

Green Building | Healthcare

Location: Jaipur – India

Client: Rajasthan State Road Development & Construction Corporation Limited (RSRDC)

The project involved the examination of the existing building along with the design of the proposed expansion as planned by the client, to evaluate the baseline energy performance and compare these results with those of three options proposed for design and engineering interventions to make the building envelope and engineering systems compliant with the stipulations of the ECBC, and accordingly, estimate the energy saving potential of these intervention options.

For the study, the Dhanvantri OPD Block of the 1889-Bed Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, the expansion of which has been designed by the Rajasthan State Roads Development and Construction Corporation (RSRDCC) has been analysed and options suggested.

The technical feasibility of the proposed interventions was evaluated by conducting energy modelling of the proposed options to determine the possibility of energy saving compared to the original proposed design.
