Kharaghoda: It is a census town in Surendranagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Kharaghoda lies in the cusp of Little Rann of Kutch and the major tourist attraction is the Wild Ass Safari into the Little Rann of Kutch. This is the last habitat in the world for this endangered species. The region abounds in tourist attractions catering to varied tourism types – Wild Ass Sanctuary, Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary, Rankdevi temple, Tarnetar [famed for Trinetreshwar Mahadev Mela (Fair)], Chotila Hill, Zharia Mahadev.
Sambhar Lake: This large salt lake in the heart of Rajasthan is like an oasis in a desert. Rich Historical and heritage. This is a new and unexplored tourism flavor in India. Largest saline wetland in India has a unique environment and eco system. Large variety of water and shore birds. The region surrounding this focal area provides the larger context in which to develop the Tourism Master Plan and explores tourism potential in the surrounding areas for added attractions. Measures for increasing the tourist traffic to this area, and the requisite facilities and infrastructure to support and sustain this increased tourist traffic, are a key aspect for the Plan Development.
Drang Salt Mine: Mandi formerly known as Mandav Nagar is a major city and a municipal council in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated around 51 kms north of state capital Shimla. The place is famous for its fairs and festivals. The temples of Bhutnath, Trilokinath, Panchvaktra and Shyamakali are among the famous temples. Based on the project brief provided and study of this region, the project extent for developing the Tourism Master Plan for the Abandoned Mine for Mandi has been restricted till the Drang mine region only. Though Mandi town will remain fulcrum of any tourist traffic flow, both domestic as well as foreign, its distance from the mine region will create logistical problem for integrating it for overall Master Plan.
